Supporting Charity

After years of work as a Parkinson’s Disease awareness advocate, I try to use my ”Eagleman” platform to support charitable causes that incorporate soccer activities. This site includes information on some of the major soccer-related charities in the US and some of the organization I have worked with,

Soccer Alliance Missoula

In August 2022, I was able to join the activities at Missoula Soccer Day. It was an opportunity to return to the site of my first organized soccer games with the local YMCA league in the 1970-80’s, Fort Missoula in Montana.

The event was a fund-raiser for Soccer Alliance Missoula. SAM is “a collaboration of soccer organizations in Missoula to improve access to programs and facilities, supports needs of member organizations and promote free play soccer.”

Parkinson’s Disease Awareness and Soccer

In 2014, I undertook a personal challenge to raise Parkinson’s Disease awareness through my Run-the-World 4 Parkinson’s campaign. I ran 4 miles in 44 different countries over 4 weeks and 4 days, and appeared in events alongside Presidents, Olympic athletes, Parkinson’s Disease experts, and others. Since then, I have completed other run and swim challenges.

In the future, I hope to bring walk soccer to Parkinson’s Disease support groups as I feel the activity would be a great opportunity to engage those with Parkinson’s and those in their support system.

You can read more about these activities on his blog.
